See what people are saying about Sam Hanna and his music
A refreshing, entertaining and hilarious act, 5 out of 5 - George Jones (Open Mic Night 2017)
Bloody Hilarious music, 10 out of 5 - Jack Fitt (Open Mic Night 2017)
Sam Hanna's Teaching New Dogs Old Tricks was an amazing show. It was a great mix of songs from Fascinating Aida to songs composed by Sam himself such as Ode to George. There were also some great comedy songs such as the Reincarnation song in which he sang 'If i've got to come back a second time, I think I'd rather be a Kangaroo!" and Socialist Britain which were perfectly delivered. The singing and the piano playing in Sam's performance were also really good and it was so professionally done. For me, the performance was 5 stars. - Rachel Barnes (Teaching New Dogs Old Tricks 2017)
We love Sam's music, he's funny, clever, unexpected, musical and engaging, but then we are his grandad and stepgran, so I guess we would say that, but it's true!!! - Dawn Getley (Teaching New Dogs Old Tricks 2017
Sam Hanna is, put simply, a riot. Behind a clean cut and sweet surface lies the heart of a true performer. The audience laughs with him, cries with him, and cheers uproariously for him at the end. Echoing his heroes in Lehrer, Aida, Flanders, Swann, and Minchin; Sam Hanna is a sat down comedian that deserves every standing ovation he gets. - Jack Ferry (Open Mic Night 2017
He is a very talented musician and singer with a wry sense of humour , an all round nice guy.
well worth watching if you want an enjoyable evening! - Valerie Millar (Teaching New Dogs Old Tricks 2017)
Brilliant concert by Sam Hanna and Harry Eastwood on Sunday night. Lots of laughter, excellent music, great to hear Harry sing, and Sam's voice is so good now, such a huge development since the last concert, and I enjoyed that one! Very impressed by these two young men, looking forward to the next one. - Dawn Getley (Returning to the scene of the crime 2018)
On Sunday 14th January I saw Sam Hannas show Returning to the scene of the crime and I though it was Fantastic. Singing was brilliant and it was really funny. I really enjoyed myself and I saw others really enjoyed themselves. A Big Well Done to Sam Hanna and Harry Eastwood and all others involved. - Tom Ross (Returning to the Scene of the Crime 2018)
This show was presented by Sam Hanna and supported by Harry Eastwood. Two young lads who put their hearts and souls into the performance, which was raising money for 'Help for Heroes' and Macmillan nurses'
Sam is a very talented pianist and singer with a great range of music in his repertoire. He wrote some of the music including the 'Ode to George', a very poignant song he wrote when his great grandfather passed away.
The show itself contains a variety of numbers ranging from quiet to boisterous, all delivered with great enthusiasm, and were received with laughs, tears and a lot of applause.
The boys are great fans of Dillie Keane and Fascinating Aida, and one of the highlights of the show was Sam performing 'Lieder' in a dress over his trousers, bent over the chair imitating the Aida movements , not as gracefully as Fascinating Aida, but everybody was wiping away tears and howling with laughter , another was 'Kangaroo' which had the same effect.
The two hours passed too quickly, I thoroughly enjoyed it as did everybody I spoke to.
I believe Sam and Harry are preparing for their third show, watch out for the next one and please try and attend it. You will not regret it.
Like the last two shows, it will be brilliant. Thank you. - Valerie Millar (Returning to the Scene of the Crime 2018)
